中國(guó)的成語(yǔ)翻譯，你知多少？
1、 鞭長(zhǎng)莫及
其實(shí)在英語(yǔ)里要表達(dá)鞭長(zhǎng)莫及很簡(jiǎn)單，就是beyond什么什么之類(lèi)的，比如beyond one's reach或beyond one's graspd等，例如：
從利比亞到不列顛的距離更遠(yuǎn)但不是鞭長(zhǎng)莫及。
It's farther from Libya to Britain but not beyond reach.
2、 閉關(guān)自守
閉關(guān)自守一般都指某個(gè)國(guó)家，所以英語(yǔ)翻譯也跟國(guó)家有關(guān)：close the country to international intercourse。
閉關(guān)自守的經(jīng)濟(jì)是Closed economy，而一個(gè)閉關(guān)自守的國(guó)家a hermit nation，例句：
With few other investment options in a closed economy, they put a big chunk of savings into real estate.
在一個(gè)閉關(guān)自守的經(jīng)濟(jì)中，由于幾乎沒(méi)有其它投資選擇，中國(guó)人把大量?jī)?chǔ)蓄投入了房地產(chǎn)。
3、 比上不足，比下有余。
有兩種比較好的表達(dá)方法：
worse off than some, better off than many
to fall short of the best, but be better than the worst
這樣的話，上面那句話：在些地方我不如人，但有些地方人不如我，比上不足，比下有余。
我們就可以直接用這兩種表達(dá)方法來(lái)表達(dá)，即準(zhǔn)確又簡(jiǎn)練。
4、 本末倒置
我們用put the cart before the horse來(lái)表示，你想想，馬車(chē)，是不是馬應(yīng)該在前面，如果把馬放在馬車(chē)的后面，豈不是本末倒置了？例如：
如果你把由下至上的規(guī)劃擺在由上至下的前面，那你就是本末倒置了。
